Do not attend meeting that do not need your presence. Assess every invitation to see the value you would contribute or get by attending. Could you be satisfied by just having a few minutes of the meeting? Could someone else take your place as substitute? Is there an insignificant objective of the meeting? You should only attend meetings that have defined objectives and require your attention. Watch your time and scrutinize every invitation.

Do not get confused between projects and tasks. Many people are frustrated because they seldom accomplish their daily tasks, and it is always because they commit this mistake. A project takes more than one step to get accomplished. When you plan your day, you should plan time to do discrete tasks that will guide you towards accomplishing projects.

Do not be constantly available. Always decline something that gets your out of your moment. Many people are texting while walking, talking to their cellphone on a restaurant with guests, and riding public transportation with their face on their gadgets rather than interacting with their fellow human beings. There are times that we need to attend to matters but if we constantly get distracted, then it is hard to be productive. It is also important to disconnect and refresh, which leads us to the last tip.

Most of all, do not forget to smell the roses. In our busy lives, it is easy to get focused rather than on being. Establish some white space in your life so that you can take pleasure on the spontaneous moments that make it worthwhile. Do not be worried about the future, appreciate the present. Do not ignore your family and friends. Do not take for granted all the good things you have.
