Today, the world is full of instant gratification. More people do not want to go through the processes that are needed to achieve their goals. It is true that most people have goals. These goals are luring in their heads but no action is done. There are many reasons why no action is done but the main reason is they are not sure how to achieve it.
How many times do you multi-task throughout the day? Your workplace might love your ability to write a letter, answer the phone and still manage to train someone within their role all at the same time but this isn’t doing you any good at all, not if you continue this multi-tasking practice continuously.
What about when you are at home? Do you find yourself cooking dinner and watching TV or listening to the radio? Is your mind constantly buzzing with uncompleted tasks? Do you plan your workload for the next day whilst you are peeling the potatoes for dinner? Do you find yourself doing general housework or gardening and talking and listening to your partner all at the same time?
It’s good to be efficient but in reality, you are probably only working at a fraction of your potential because you will be distracted and your mind will flit from one thing to another. It’s important to be mindful of your situation. Meditation will help you to slow your mind down and to live more in the moment. Consider a time when you were about to do something a little dangerous or try to recall a time when you needed the ultimate in concentration, your mind automatically slows down and you focus on the task at hand and this is important.
If you take up yoga for example, the process works the same. Okay, you are not doing anything dangerous, but you have to learn the postures, understand which muscles groups and organs that you are affecting, feel the stretch and learn to respect your body as you move into the postures and hold them.
These are powerful and yet gentle postures that need you to be mindful’ and they work. Of course there are other mindful’ hobbies too such as painting or pottery for example.
The law of attraction states that if you want something, all you have to do is ask for it. This can sound too good to be true- just ask for anything at all and you will receive it? I can assure you it is perfectly true. The things you want in life really can be yours just by asking for them. However, making the law of attraction work for you is not always this easy.
Firstly, you have to know how to ask. That’s the key- knowing how to ask, and knowing what to ask for. You can ask for anything you want. But just asking for a new car when what you really want is a Ferrari means that you won’t be truly satisfied when you receive your new car and it isn’t a Ferrari. And just saying “I want a brand new Ferrari” and then getting on with your life as usual probably won’t attract it to you.
The way to get the new Ferrari is by focusing your thoughts on receiving it, picturing yourself driving it, truly believing you deserve it, and allowing it to come to you.
Just asking is only the first step in the law of attraction. Feeling and acting as if you’ve received it is the second, knowing you deserve it and allowing it to come to you is the third.
If you doubt whether you deserve to have it then this will produce negative energy. Negative energy produces negative results. If you don’t think you deserve a new Ferrari, you won’t get it. If you don’t think the law of attraction works, it won’t work for you. If you focus on the fact that you haven’t got a new Ferrari, you won’t get it. The law of attraction states we get what we think about- good and bad.
If you feel that you desperately need to have a new Ferrari, it will probably not come to you. If you are coming from a place of desperation and need, the universe will deliver more of what it thinks you want- more feeling needy and desperate. You have to keep yourself as detached from the outcome of your desire as possible. You can do this by feeling happy and satisfied with all you have in your life right now, and knowing for sure that your Ferrari will come to you at the best possible time for you and so you don’t need to worry. Your job is to remain positive at all times.

Self confidence is one of the most important skills you can develop in your life, if you really want to achieve everything you set out to do. Do you consider yourself to be a confident person?
Confidence is developed and strengthened over time. For example, a dentist who has been operating her practice for a decade knows that she can effectively perform any and every routine that her clients might require. There is no doubt in her mind that the procedure will be a success and her confidence is literally at a peak.
That same dentist at some point in her career had to learn each procedure for the first time. Despite the studying and prep work, her confidence simply could not have been as high as it would after many years of experience and it is very likely that she experienced fear, anxiety and a total lack of confidence in the beginning.
Today, while this experienced dentist can perform her work with the utmost confidence, she may suffer from a complete lack of confidence in other areas of her life; such as singing in front of an audience or meeting new people at a networking event.
That is why it is vitally important for every person to literally claim their self confidence in every area of life where it is required. This means that if you have a big goal you are shooting for, realize that your main path to achieving that goal lies directly in the amount of confidence you have in yourself to actually attain it.
Take two people starting at zero each with the intention of making a million dollars in business. The first person has never run a business and has never made anywhere near that amount of money. The second person has built and sold a previous company for a million dollars. Obviously the second person has a much better chance at success because he has the confidence that it can be done.
Does this mean the first person won’t be able to achieve the goal? Absolutely not. But he must systematically build and grow his confidence to a point where the million dollar goal is believable.
By simply setting the intention to develop your own self confidence and then working daily on strengthening it, you can drive yourself towards any goal that you want to achieve in your life.
Most people I know, myself included, have extremely high expectations for themselves and for the results in their lives. The people around us like family and friends also have high expectations of us. In this day and age, we have more demands on us than probably any other time in human history.
With this kind of pressure, every one of us is bound to mess up somewhere along the way. We may miss an important appointment, make a critical error at work, neglect our significant other and so on. I’m sure you have your own situations you could plug right into this discussion.
One skill that I learned early in my career that has made a huge difference is to accept the fact that none of us are perfect. Mistakes are definitely going to happen but life is also going to continue… even when the mistakes may feel downright devastating at the time. The real key is how you react to your mistakes. Namely, do you run away and try to pretend like nothing happened, or do you use mistakes as an opportunity to develop your character and credibility?
As a business owner, I have had to do a lot of learning on the fly and this inevitably has lead to some pretty embarrassing mistakes in my career. Looking back on those situations, I am grateful and even pleased that every one of them took place. In most cases, my mistakes caused a client to become upset with both myself and my company. However, in every single situation, I was able to turn the initial negative situation into something very positive and beneficial in the long run.
How? The key is in ownership and accountability. Every time I made a mistake that negatively impacted a client (or anyone else for that matter), I made a point of:
1. Owning up to it and accepting 100% responsibility.
2. Making a complete commitment to do whatever was required to fix the problem.
These two steps have pulled me out of some pretty sticky situations and surprisingly allowed me to strengthen my relationship with virtually every person who may have been hurt by my mistake.
The real reason this happens comes back to basic human nature. Each person understands at a core level that no person is perfect. And when a person is willing to completely own up to a mistake and do what it takes to make it right, it is almost impossible for the other person to ignore them. They can empathize with the situation because they too have made mistakes and hurt other people.
The key thing to remember is that making mistakes is a good thing. It means that you are playing the game of life full out. All you need to do is stay accountable to yourself and the people in your life and you will always be able to correct a situation that may have gone astray.
Use the law of attraction to let go, receive your desires and allow them to manifest. This may sound simple, and it should be, but so many people fail at this. They expect the law of attraction to work like magic- they set an intention for $100,000 or whatever and just sit back and wait for it to drop into their lap. I’m afraid that the law of attraction doesn’t actually work like this. It works by prompting and assisting you to act in a certain way to bring your desires to fruition; for example if your intention is to lose weight, you will feel naturally drawn to healthier habits such as eating more fruit and vegetables and exercising regularly. You may find that you no longer desire fatty foods or foods you used to crave.
If your intention is to manifest a new job, you may get a hunch to call a friend you haven’t spoken with for some time. Whilst you are chatting, he then happens to mention that an acquaintance of his is looking to hire somebody in the exact field of work you have always wanted to work in.
If your intention is to manifest a load of cash, you may receive some inner instruction to start a new business, or get an idea of running your existing business more efficiently.
So although you will still have to take some action to receive your desires, it will be inspired action, and people have found that all the obstacles in their path have melted away before them. If you get a hunch or instruction that seems to come from inside of you, make sure you act on it, as it could be the universe’s way of manifesting your intention.
Also, make sure you are not stating your intentions from a place of desperation. For instance, if you need money to pay the gas bill before you get cut off, whilst you are reading your intention there is a risk that you will be worrying how you will get it, and inwardly fretting about your gas being cut off. This is where your emotions will be focused and you will attract more reasons to worry rather than the money you need to pay the bill.
You will need to be able to detach yourself to a certain extent when reading your intentions. Don’t allow yourself to feel bad because you don’t have them yet and have no idea how you are going to get them. That’s the universe’s job. You just need to feel confident that they are on their way so there is no need to worry. The trick is to imagine receiving them, get into the feeling of having them, get excited about them, feel grateful for receiving them and try to detach yourself from worrying that you don’t yet have them or how you will get them. That last sentence encapsulates quite neatly the whole process of manifesting your desires using the law of attraction!
Once you have received your intention, feel grateful for it and release that feeling of gratitude to the universe.
There are several natural laws by which we are all bound, and the law of attraction is just one of these. These laws definitely exist- you can see the law of gravity (another natural law) in action every time you drop something and watch it fall to the floor!
The law of attraction works by making sure that what is brought into your life matches the thoughts and energy you are sending out. Everything in the universe is made of energy- including us. Everything you can see is made up of different configurations of energy. If you were to look at your hand through a powerful enough telescope, you would see that your hand is not actually a solid object but made up of countless tiny atoms. These atoms are never static, but are in a constant state of motion. You are constantly radiating this energy out to the universe in the form of thoughts (which are also made up of energy), and the type of energy sent out depends on your emotional state at that particular time. These emotional thought energies are known as vibrations’ and automatically attract back to us anything that is on the same vibrational frequency. Put simply, your emotions and thought determine what you are attracting. You become a magnet, attracting whatever you think about, especially if you attach emotion to the thought.
Energy vibrates at different frequencies, and the things you attract into your life are vibrating at the same frequency as your thoughts. Thoughts such as love, excitement and abundance vibrate at higher frequencies which will attract more of these things to you, whereas thoughts such as stress, anger and confusion vibrate at lower frequencies which will attract more of them into your life.
For example, if you are constantly feeling anxious because your car needs repairs and you have some large bills due which you don’t know how you will pay, the thought vibrations you are giving out will attract back to you things on a similar frequency; for example you will receive more things to feel anxious about- you may get more bills or your washing machine may develop a fault.
On the other hand, if you are feeling good about yourself and happy with life then the thought vibrations you are giving out will attract more reasons for you to feel good and happy with your life.
Just as the law of gravity is always working, the law of attraction is also always working, even though we are not always aware of it. Everything we currently have in our lives right now is what we attracted- whether it is poor relationships, ill health or lack of money. Even the clothes you wear and the car you drive- your thoughts attracted them whether you were aware of this or not. Although this may seem a little depressing, it is actually quite empowering! How? Well, if you unconsciously attracted things you didn’t want into your life, now that you know about the law of attraction and how it works, you can start deliberately attracting the things you do want!
